East Rockhill, Pa., January 22, 2008 - At long last, Mood's Covered Bridge is open, reports Doris Taylor, Vermont Covered Bridge Society member and local resident.
      Almost four years and $800,000 after it was lost to arson, reported the January 12 issue of the Intelligencer, Mood's Covered Bridge is rebuilt and ready to open, awaiting only paint and paperwork.
      Burned in 2004, the span was reopened to traffic shortly after, using the self-supporting road-way under the old bridge that survived the fire.
      Work to replace both the roadway and the covered bridge over it began in July, 2007.
      To accommodate traffic patterns, the approach road to the single lane bridge, Blooming Glen Road, has been made one way, with "a big, flashing ONE WAY - DO NOT ENTER sign," Taylor said.
      "The bridge really looks nice, the construction crew did a great job," said Taylor.
      "Plans are moving along well for the dedication of the new Mood's Bridge on April 12," she said.
